A Change of Leadership is Coming to PLEA | A message from David Duncan, Board President
PLEA Community Services Society of BC is about to embark on a fairly significant period of change as Tim Agg, our Executive Director for over 30 years, retires. We recognize this news may cause some feelings of anxiety and anticipation for those closely connected to the agency. We therefore want you to know that both Tim and the Board of Directors are working together to ensure the values and philosophies, so fundamental to the success of PLEA and to the lives of the individuals we serve, live on after he leaves.
With this in mind a sub-committee of the Board has been appointed to manage the transition to a new ED. They will advertise the role in February 2015 and, following short listing, interviews and reference checks, plan to make the appointment in time for PLEA’s next Annual General Meeting in June 2015.
We are encouraging everyone to help spread the message through their formal and informal networks that the recruitment process for the new ED is underway. When the advertisement is posted interested individuals should visit this website (www.plea.bc.ca/current-job-postings) for more information about the role and how to apply. Any enquiries about the role or questions about this matter in general should be directed to Janice Cook at firstname.lastname@example.org in the first instance. I endeavour to provide an answer to any we receive in my next update.
The Board is working closely with Tim to ensure a smooth leadership transition. Words cannot describe what Tim brings to this organization. He will be leaving an incredible legacy and we will work tirelessly to find a new leader who will carry this work forward.
